Hi everyone,
I sure hope someone has had this problem before and knows how to fix it. I really hope it's not something wrong with my phone.
Anyway, I've had an Iphone 4s for about six or so months. Just recently the battery started to drain extremely fast (like in a few hours). I have nothing strenuous or new running. Only thing I could think is I've left it plugged into my USB port in order to take advantage of the personal hotspot feature. .
Anyway, if that isn't frustrating enough I've noticed a strange occurance with voiceover. When scrolling through texts and contacts by flicking left and right with with one finger, instead of going to the next or previous item, voiceover will jump back or ahead an item or two, or more comonly, just repeat the same item I was just on. This does not happen in settings, mail or on the dashboard. Pressing anywhere on the screen (even in text messages and contacts) will make voiceover go to that item. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm on a three year contract with this thing, and I really don't want it to be broken already.
Have you tried doing a power button reset? from the lock screen press power buttons six or seven times to reset the phone. Also, what about restoring your phone via iTunes if all else failes. Lastly, your phone should have a 1 year warranty from apple even though you bought it from your local company? ANother reason to probably invest in apple care which gives you that extra one year of coverage. If I can help feel free to PM me.
I have reset the phone (though I just held the power button down and powered off.) It seemed to fix the problem temporarily, but not for very long. I was hoping not to have to call Apple to get it replaced, but between this and the suddenly short battery life, I'm growing a little concerned.
Before calling apple, I'd recommend trying a restore in iTunes. For two reasons, first you'd know if this fixes the problem, and second, this is something they are going to insist you try any how before moving forward. Lastly, make sure there are no IOS updates. Under setting general, and software updates! I recall there was an update for the 4s, recently, that as I recall was draining battery and such and instantly Apple put out another update. Let me know..
Hi. not sure if you have sorted the problem yet but, i would first suggest removing everything from the app switcher. if that doesn't help then i would go ahead and do a soft reset of the phone. hold down the home and power button at the same time for 10 seconds. this way you will not lose any of your settings. hope that helps.
